Our unique combination of chalk-suited wildflower seeds, chilli powder (to keep birds & insects away during growth), your loved one's ashes, clay & peat-free compost (to ensure an appropriate pH level for ideal growth), are used to create your bespoke seed balls. We aim to dispatch your order within 7 days of receipt of your loved one’s ashes.

Each cotton bag contains 10 or more seed balls & is tied with twine & a brown card label, stamped with "In loving memory". If you would prefer blank labels, please advise when sending the ashes. Each bag also comes with a set of instructions for using your seed balls. If you require fewer bags, fewer seed balls, or the seed balls spread between fewer bags, then just let us know.

This mix contains:

  • Poterium sanguisorba : Salad Burnet
  • Knautia arvensis: Field Scabious
  • Galium verum: Lady’s Bedstraw
  • Centaurea scabiosa: Greater Knapweed
  • Hippocrepis comosa: Horseshoe Vetch
  • Anthyllis vulneraria: Kidney Vetch
  • Linum catharticum: Fairy Flax
  • Daucus carota: Wild Carrot
  • Succisa pratensis: Devil's-bit Scabious
  • Phyteuma orbiculare: Round-headed Rampion

This is a perennials hardy, native flower mix to be planted in spring. It is suitable for chalky & low nutrient soil areas with minimal competition from invasive grasses and weeds. It is ideal for sunny banks, slopes & well drained borders. Your flowers will establish themselves in their first year, and reach their best in their second or third years given good growing conditions.

Please note seed mix varieties are subject to availability and flower growth is not guaranteed. Seed mix will cover up to around 1m2 per ball.

After you place your order:

  • We will send you a postal pack, with everything you will need to send your loved one's ashes to us
  • Send us up to 50g of your loved one's ashes, using the postal pack we send you; see the Posting ashes - what are the rules? page of our website for full details; we recommend using a Royal Mail tracked & signed-for delivery service (e.g. Special Delivery). This maximum of 50g of ashes remains the same, however many bags of seed balls you order, as Royal Mail only allows this amount to be sent in the post
  • If you have asked us to collect your loved one’s ashes from you, we will aim to be in contact with you, within 24 hours of your order

Please note, the success of the wildflowers is dependent on conditions, and successful growth therefore cannot be guaranteed. Remember – small objects can represent a choking hazard, especially to babies & young children!
